DALLAS, February 18, 2008] – The 27
th Annual Congressional Art Competition will be held Thursday, February 21 at The Art Institute of Dallas. This competition was established to recognize the creative spirit of American high school students through a nationwide art contest. It provides an excellent opportunity to encourage and recognize the rich artistic talent of high school students.
In the past, more than 200 congressional offices have participated in this program. The winning entries (one from each congressional office) are displayed in a corridor of the U.S. Capitol Building.
The Art Institute of Dallas will host the contest for high school students living in the 32nd Congressional District, with Congressman Pete Sessions acting as master of ceremonies.
The winner will receive a $200 savings bond, three roundtrip airline tickets to Washington, D.C., and their work will be displayed in the
Capitol
Building. The Art Institute of Dallas is also offering a $2500 tuition scholarship to the local winner.
