The Art Institute of Dallas is pleased to announce that Kishya Geer, a BFA Graphic Design program student, is the local winner in the Hewlett-Packard/Art Institutes Poster Design Competition. Geer will receive acknowledgement on the HP website, a certificate acknowledging her placement and a HP Digital Camera.

Along with the HP logo and work station from the HP website, Geer’s simplistic design includes plain vector men with an innovator that is HP blue with a head shaped like the HP workstation. She describes him as the computer, HP and the innovator. It took her 25 to 30 hours to design and create this winning entry using Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS on an HP wx workstation.

Brian Smith, a BFA Interactive Media Design program student, received honorable mention for the local competition. He will receive acknowledgement on the HP website, a certificate acknowledging his placement, and a USB key drive and a mobile USB 4 port hub. Smith created his entry with Adobe Photoshop on an HP WX workstation.

The national first place winner is Franchesca Ramsey, a student at the Miami International University of Art & Design. Franchesca wins a HP xw4300 workstation and monitor. Her work will also be highlighted in HP’s Business to Business communications for 2006 including web and print collateral.
