Jenny Blakemore, Interior Design student at The Art Institute of Dallas, will face her final test - a real-life makeover on HGTV’s Designer Finals with a minimal budget, a handful of helpers and advice from her mentor, Interior Design instructor Charla Blake.

Blakemore’s television debut airs Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 on HGTV’s new designer’s show. In each episode of the Designer’s Finals top design students from throughout the nation get a chance to “go pro” and redo a room in a real family’s house. The student gets real-world experience while the family gains a great new room.

Blakemore doesn’t have a lot of design experience but her first clients, Rod and Catherine Richardson, don’t mind because their living room needs help. Blakemore plans to change the traffic pattern by moving the furniture around and adding new pieces including two wicker chairs and an ottoman. The wall will be painted a warm taupe with red accents and a red floor screen will added as well as fountain, sisal rug and new end tables. Blakemore will also create custom artwork for the space!
